The Kids Speak Out Project is a collaboration with UNITAR, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
KIDS SPEAK OUT is a YouTube show where kids from ages 6-19 talk about issues and challenges facing them today. They share their experiences with other kids across the country and from around the globe. The show is hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist and anchor Barbara Harrison and is executive produced by Celia Straus, co-founder of Barbara Harrison Media.
We kick off this series by inviting kids of all ages to voice their questions, concerns, fears, and anxiety about the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. With Episode 10, we started tackling other current themes such as helping your community during or after the pandemic, racial injustice in America, climate change, and social change through innovative projects started by young innovators worldwide. We know your life has changed this year and we want to hear what you have to say about it. Join our conversation, ask questions, share your opinions, and tell us your stories.
Kids Speak Out produces video episodes on Zoom for kids of all ages addressing different themes. For example, Episodes 1-9 are about all aspects of the coronavirus – from keeping safe to online learning, to anxieties, fears, boredom and other concerns when in quarantine. Every episode features a special guest who is part of the conversation with our "gallery," along with host Barbara Harrison.
